Malaysia Airlines Does Its Bit for Charity

Sepang, 15 October 2015 – Malaysia Airlines contributed a pair of return Business Class tickets between Kuala Lumpur and London at the British Malaysian Society, BMS’s charity auction for two organizations, MERCY Malaysia UK and Voice of the Children.

The dinner held at Inner Temple, London was attended by the President of British Malaysian Society Sir Mark Moody-Stuart and Lady Stuart as well as more than 60  BMS members and guests.

Speaking at the event, Malaysia Airlines UK Area Manager, Weng Chi Lee said “We feel very strongly about issues affecting the global community. The Voice of the Children and MERCY Malaysia allows us to reach out to these communities and we are pleased to be able to provide our assistance by donating the proceeds from our Business Class tickets in support of these causes. "

MERCY Malaysia UK provides medical and humanitarian assistance for vulnerable communities all over the world, during crisis and non-crisis situations. Voice of the Children is  an organisation that promotes childrens' rights in Malaysia, particularly advocating law and policy reform to ensure that children are protected and no longer at risk of violation. 

Other items were also on auction and a raffle was held to encourage the guests to donate. Close to RM 40,000 was raised for the two charities and presentation cheques will be made to the recipients in Kuala Lumpur and London.
